Press Play through Riff / Up arrow to preview the riff one note at a time.
Use these buttons to play through the Riff, test, and hear what it will sound like. You provide the rhythm and tempo — just like on the PianoHack.
Fills the note boxes in edit mode. Not saved until you click Save.
Piano—Click keys to play. In edit mode, it fills the focused box (or next empty).
Select a riff from the dropdown to edit (name + boxes become editable). Click Save to write back to phRiffs.txt.
Delete all notes clears the 49 boxes (you still need to click Save). Escape restores the original line from the file.
Play through Riff / Up arrow previews the selected riff one note at a time. The ↑ key plays the next riff note, and the ← key triggers Riff Start.
Values must be MIDI notes 1–127. Empty boxes are ignored; your firmware pads internally.
Instructions
Please save the phRiffs.txt file to a microSD card that has been FAT32 formatted. When the PianoHack is powered ON, it will read the phRiffs.txt file and you will be able to play these riffs with only one key or MIDI button, or with multiple keys/buttons. You can also select the riff by sending different CC messages as outlined in the PianoHack User’s Manual.
Browser saving note: For direct saving back to phRiffs.txt, use Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge and open the file with the blue/yellow phRiffs.txt button at the top. Safari and Firefox can still use this editor, but they save by downloading a new phRiffs.txt. Replace the old file on your microSD card with the downloaded copy, then reload/open that file again if you want to continue editing.
